This notice explains what information Switchboard collects through switchboarddfw.com, why, and what we do with it. Switchboard is a digital operations business based in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. If you have a question about this notice, email info@switchboarddfw.com.
The short version
- We only collect what you choose to send us through the contact form or by email, plus basic, cookie-free site statistics.
- We use your information to reply to you and to prepare for a conversation about your business.
- We don't sell your information or share it for advertising.
- You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Information you give us
When you use the contact form, we collect your name, company, email address and, if you provide them, your phone number, website, industry, the area you want help with and any message you write. If you email us, we receive whatever you include in the email.
We use this information to reply to you, to look at your business's public website before a call, and to keep a record of our conversation. If you become a client, the terms of our written agreement also apply.
Information collected automatically
- Site statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are useful. It does not use cookies or track you across other websites, and we only see aggregated numbers.
- Button and link counts. When someone submits the form or clicks an email, phone or booking link, we record the type of action, the page and the time. We don't record who you are, your IP address or your device.
- Spam and abuse protection. The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. Turnstile processes technical signals from your browser for that purpose only. To limit repeated submissions, we keep a one-way, salted hash of your IP address for up to 24 hours. We cannot turn that hash back into your IP address.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard request information such as IP address and browser type to deliver and secure the site.
We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party ad networks on this site.
Form submissions are emailed to us and you receive a confirmation email. These messages are sent through Resend, an email delivery service. Mail to our address is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to a mailbox hosted by Google. Those providers process the content of the messages only to deliver and store them for us.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run this site and our business, such as Cloudflare (hosting, security, analytics and form storage), Resend (email delivery) and Google (email). If we work together on a project, we may share relevant details with a specialist contractor working on that project, under a confidentiality obligation. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep contact form submissions and related emails for as long as they're useful for our conversation or relationship, and generally no longer than three years after our last contact, unless we need them longer for legal, tax or accounting reasons. IP hashes used for rate limiting are deleted within 24 hours.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing info@switchboarddfw.com. We'll respond within 30 days. If you'd rather not hear from us again, tell us and we'll stop.
Security
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections and limited access to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share.
Children
This site is meant for businesses. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
